According to the Landesbauordnungen ('Building Regulations of the Land') the involvement of recognized testing laboratories, inspection bodies and certification bodies can be necessary. These bodies are published in the list Verzeichnis der Prüf-, Überwachungs- und Zertifizierungsstellen nach den Landesbauordnungen ('List of testing laboratories, inspection bodies and certification bodies according to the Landesbauordnungen ('Building Regulations of the Land')).

The list of testing laboratories, inspection bodies and certification bodies according to the Landesbauordnungen ('Building Regulations of the Land') is published by DIBt. It is published in the special editions of the periodical of DIBt Mitteilungen.

Testing laboratories, inspection bodies and certification bodies to be involved within the scope of prescribed attestations of conformity are stated in Part I and Part II of the list.
Testing laboratories for the verification of applicability of not regulated construction products and types of construction grant an allgemeines bauaufsichtliches Prüfzeugnis ('National test certificate')) and are listed in Part III.
The inspection of manufacturers of special construction products by a testing laboratory can be prescribed as well as the surveillance of specific activities by an inspection body. The bodies recognized for this purpose are listed in Part IV and in Part V.
Annexes A, B and C state names, addresses and pictograms of the German testing laboratories, inspection bodies and certification bodies and according to Article 16 of the Construction Product Directive of recognized testing laboratories, inspection bodies and certification bodies of other Member States of the EU or States party to the EEA.
