Approval download

You can download approvals, permits and ETAs published by DIBt for free. 

Information regarding language:

  • National technical approvals and construction technique permits are published in German only on this website. Please contact the approval or permit holder to enquire whether an English version is available.
  • ETAs are published in German and in English.

To obtain an electronic version, please enter your search above (for decisions as from 2000) or refer to the website of the Fraunhofer Information Center for Regional Planning and Building Construction (German) (for the archive of decisions starting from 1968).

Electronic Seal (eSiegel)

At present, national technical approvals (abZ) and general construction technique permits (aBG) that have been granted as of 1 June 2023 bear a qualified electronic seal. Some abZ/aBG granted in May 2023 may also already bear a qualified electronic seal. 

Project-related decisions that are granted by DIBt for projects in and on behalf of the State of Berlin have been bearing the electronic seal since end of July 2023 (not available on our website).

As of 1 October 2023 European Technical Assessments (ETAs) issued by DIBt also bear the qualified electronic seal.

Statements of fees and advance payment requests for abZ/aBG and ETAs bear a qualified electronic seal as of mid-August 2024 (not available on our website).

In return, the following documents will not bear a qualified electronic seal:

  • versions of the above-mentioned decisions issued before the specified dates

Open the document in a suitable PDF viewer (e.g., Adobe). The qualified electronic seal is shown at the top, usually in the chosen language.

When you print the document, the qualified electronic seal will not be visible.

If your computer indicates that there is a problem with the certificate, update the trusted certificate list in your PDF viewer. 

For Adobe: 

Adobe > Edit > Preferences

Select the 'Trust Manager' option. There are two sections where you can click on an 'Update now' button. Update twice and exit by clicking on 'OK'.

If you cannot see the qualified electronic seal, the reason might be an outdated PDF reader. Update the programme you are using and open the file again.
